Growth and Change

The start of a new year is always a fresh opportunity for change, and this year, I'm determine to make it count. After reflecting on my goals and the things I want to improve in my life, I've decided that 2025 will be my year of growth. I want to focus more on my studies, stay organized, and make healthier choices. It's a chance to leave behind any bad habits from last year and start over with a positive attitude.

One of my main goals for the new year is to improve my time management. In the past, I sometimes procrastinated on assignments or struggled to balance schoolwork with other activities. This year, I plan to create a schedule that will help me stay on track and avoid last-minute stress. I also want to dedicate more time to reading and learning outside of school, as I believe it will help me grow both academically and personally.

 side academics, I want to take better  care of my health. I've realized that staying active and eating well can make a huge difference in how I feel every day. This year, I plan to exercise more regularly and make healthier food choices. By focusing on both my mental and physical well-being, I hope to feel more confident and energized as I move through the year.

 All Wrapped Up

The year of 2024 was ended with a blast of joy and laughter from our family. Christmas is celebrated on the 25th day of December, just before the year ends. This time of the year wqill always be filled with different memories with different emotions. As soon as our class got dismissed for the last time before the Christmas break, I could feel the excitement building inside me. I had been looking forward to celebrating Christmas, and this year, I decided to make the most of the moment. I thought of making this Christmas vacation more meaningful. And it did!

This Christmas, we decided to start off our Christmas with going sightseeing. We went to Aluminak Hospitality, a popular tourist spot at Santiago, Ilocos Sur. I felt like I got reconnected to nature because of its earthy vibes. The bamboo, vines, and other wooden msterial all looked great!  Very artistic desgin and all. The unlimited coffee also calls for palpitations. It was also picture-perfect. I took hundreds of pictured here! We bonded and shared love that filled my heart with contentment. It was fun! School's off.. It felt like there was a full load of problems lifted from my shoulders. And guess what? My brothers came home and celebrated with us! I feel extra happy for my mother because it has been more than a year since she saw my brothers in person. All the stress and tiredness I felt from the war-like days because of school every single day was instantly vanished when I heard two different voices coming from our home. Nothing feels better than being reunited. 

As Christmas vacation came to an end, I felt really happy and grateful for everything I had experienced. I got to spend quality time with my family, enjoy holiday traditions, and relax after a busy school year. It was the perfect break that helped me recharge and appreciate the little things in life. Looking back, I realize how important it is to take a break and enjoy the holidays. This Christmas was exactly what I needed, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s vacation, hoping it will be just as fun and memorable!

Violence Against Women (VAW) is a pervasive issue affecting women worldwide, including in the Philippines. It manifests in many forms, including physical, emotional, sexual, and economic abuse, and impacts an estimated 1 in 3 women. In the Philippines, the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) revealed that nearly 1 out of 5 women have experienced some form of violence from their partners. To address this, the Philippines has enacted several laws aimed at combating violence against women and protecting their rights. One of the most significant of these is the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004, alongside Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9262, which is crucial in the yearly observance of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

No. 9262) is a landmark legislation that provides comprehensive protection to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. This law addresses physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and economic violence. Elpidio Quirino was the sixth President of the Philippines, serving from 1948 to 1953. Born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Quirino came from a family with a strong background in public service. His father, a civil servant, and his mother, a teacher, instilled in him the values of hard work, discipline, and education. He studied law at the University of the Philippines and passed the bar exam in 1915, beginning his career in public service shortly afterward.

    

    Before becoming president, Quirino held various important positions in government. He first served as a municipal secretary and then as a provincial fiscal, before moving into national politics. Quirino was appointed to the House of Representatives in 1919 and later served as a senator. In 1934, he became the Secretary of Finance under President Manuel L. Quezon, a role he held during the Commonwealth period. Quirino played a key role in the creation of the Philippine economy's foundation during the pre-independence years, and his expertise in finance was critical in helping the country prepare for its future independence.

Quirino's presidency was marked by several important achievements. One of his most notable accomplishments was his efforts to rebuild the Philippines after World War II. The country was left in ruins following the war, and Quirino’s administration focused on reconstruction and rehabilitation. He also implemented policies aimed at land reform, poverty alleviation, and promoting industrialization. Extreme weather events like stronger typhoons, floods, and droughts are happening more frequently, which severely affect the lives and living conditions of many Filipinos.

    The increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters is one of the biggest consequences of climate change in the country. Typhoons, which have always been part of the Philippines' climate, are now more unpredictable and stronger because of rising sea temperatures and changes in atmospheric patterns. These powerful storms cause widespread destruction, displacing communities, destroying homes, and ruining crops.
